The second-heaviest five-fingered ski glove in the Black Diamond women's line, the Prodigy is designed for day-in, day-out snowsports professionals who are out on the hill regardless of the weather. A removable inner glove provides the warmth, with high-quality Primaloft One insulation throughout as well as comfortable boiled wool on the back of the hand. The liner also features a Gore-Tex XCR insert to keep hands dry during wet Cascade snow dumps and messy mixed-precipitation New England winter storms.

The outer glove, meanwhile, is made of a durable mixture of goatskin leather and abrasion-resistant nylon. The whole glove is generally similar to the Black Diamond Guide, but a little bit slimmer and more dexterous, and consequently a little less warm. BD estimates that the Prodigy covers the temperature range from 15 above to 15 below zero (a very rough estimate which depends on the user) while the Guide extends the lower limit down to about -20.
