OGE’s Unexpected Swimming Pool

Despite being an inland hill state Vermont has had record flooding this year.  Yesterday, at 7PM, Burlington was in the midst of a spring thunderstorm accompanied by intense rainfall.  Roads were becoming temporary rivers and streams.  Indeed the morning news tells us that people were actually evacuated from Montpelier and surrounding areas due to flooding.  Much to our surprise our warehousing space was also rapidly becoming a pond.  A cap on a drain was sprung by the sudden increase in water pressure, and a 8 inch column of water was propelled 4 feet into the air for 20 minutes before being brought under control.  For some reason people were more interested in saving product from getting soaked so we didn’t get any pictures of the geiser, so work with me here to imagine its watery malevolence.

I do have a couple after action shots.  I think this one captures the situation the best:

Save The Socks

Save The Socks

Thanks to the efforts of our crack team we managed to prevent virtually any of our stock from taking water damage, but things got jumbled around in the rescue effort. If you are expecting a shipment from GearX please be patient.  We’re moving as fast as we can.

No problem, Y’all. These thing happen and compared to what happened to Joplin, Missouri, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and other areas, this would seem to be unforunate, but minor for you, and trivial for your customers.

I have placed three orders and was about to do a forth, but will perhaps wait. Don’t give any delay a thought. No apology necessary.

      Thanks John.

Clean up went spectacularly well and thanks to a pile of fans and industrial dehumidifiers, we’re back to things looking their usual self, cleaner even! And we’re running at full speed.
