Technologies:

3D and 2D NanoShell Fabric Technologies-

3D NanoShell Technology features NanoShell; a highly breathable, 20 denier face fabric treated with a Nano DWR for water repellency, as well as 3D Barrier; a non-woven silicone vapor barrier layer. The NanoShell fabric protects the bag from external moisture, while the 3D barrier well as traps condensation that forms under the face fabric and prevents it from contacting the down layer beneath it. 3D NanoShell preserves the dry, lofty character of the down fill. This fabric is ideal for cold weather and expedition use. 2D Nanoshell features the same innovative, 20 denier NanoShell fabric for water repellency and breathability, but without the vapor barrier. This fabric is ideal for lightweight summer or 3-season bags, or for non-expedition cold weather sleeping. featured in the Micro and Talus bags.

2D PermaShell Fabric-

2D PermaShell fabric features a durable 33 denier face fabric that is highly water and wind resistant. This fabric is breathable, which allows moisture and condensation to escape, as well as down proof. Featured in the Trek series sleeping bags.

Pertex Quantum Fabric-

Pertex Quantum is an ultralight, yet surprisingly durable face fabric with a robust water repellency. At just 10 denier, Pertex Quantum is lightweight and packable, as well as highly breathable. Pertex Quantum is featured in the Spark sleeping bag.

ULTRA-DRY Down-

Sea to Summit's ULTRA-DRY Down is an incredibly resilient hydrophobic down fill that features a permanent (no loss of treatment effect after 14 washes) Nano-DWR treatment. ULTRA-DRY Down is extremely resistant to moisture, retaining loft and warmth significantly better than untreated down sleeping bags. This treatment allows the down fill in Sea to Summit sleeping bags retain 60% more loft and absorb 30% less moisture than untreated bags. Additionally, this treatment is antimicrobal and antibacterial, which decreases the need for frequent washing and extends the life of the bag.

Offset Baffles-

Offset baffles greatly minimize heat loss through the seams of the baffles, since those seams don't align directly. This is a simple way to increase the efficiency of Sea to Summit bags without a complex baffle system.

Side Block Baffles-

Side block baffles prevent down from shifting from the top of the bag to the bottom, which allows each sleeping bag to have a different ratio of down in the top and bottom sections of the sleeping bag. Down in the bottom of a sleeping bag is compressed during sleep, so it is less thermally efficient. Sea to Summit utilizes side block baffles in order to put more down in the top of their sleeping bags where it won't be compressed. Sea to Summit took into account the unique cuts of their bags when determining the proper ratio, therefore the Micro and Spark bags, which are tight-fitting and will move with the body, have a 55/45 top/bottom fill ratio, while the Alpine, Traverse, Talus and Trek bags have a 60/40 ratio since they will stay properly oriented in the night.

Zippers-

All Sea to Summit bags use high quality YKK zippers, which are durable and smooth. Stiff, 210 denier cloth in the draft tube prevents zipper snag and adds durability in this area of the bag. Additionally, the Alpine, Traverse, Talus and Trek bags all have heavy YKK #5 zippers that are the same length in all sizes, so any two models and sizes can be sipped together easily. The Micro and Traveller series bags have light YKK #3 zippers, so bags from each of these two models can zip to one another.
