Most Valuable Gear: Black Diamond Rambla Glove

A warm, technical ski glove built to handle any weather!

Whether you are out on a long backcountry tour or just taking laps at the resort, it's important to have a pair of gloves that will provide you with the warmth, durability and weather protection necessary on top of remote peaks, backcountry bowls or cold ski lifts. Additionally, the ability to perform essential tasks without removing your gloves like adjusting a binding or pole, opening a water bottle, or removing skins is crucial. Black Diamond designed the Rambla glove as a perfect all-around ski glove that stays warm and dry, while also providing incredible dexterity. The features and performance of the Rambla glove are why we've chosen it as this week's Most Valuable Gear selection!

Here are 3 reasons why we love the Black Diamond Rambla glove:

1. Primaloft Insulation for warmth

The Rambla glove is surprisingly warm considering its low-profile design thanks to 142 grams of PrimaLoft One insulation and a fixed 100 gram fleece lining. These two insulating elements of the glove's construction make it a comfortable choice down to temperatures as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit. No one likes a glove that is too thick, yet they also don't enjoy cold fingers. The PrimaLoft insulation in the Rambla is lightweight and compact, resulting in a glove that is very warm, but not obtrusive or clumsy. unnamed (2)

2. Gore Tex XCR Insert to keep you dry

When cold and nasty weather hits during a ski touring excursion, it's important that your hands not only stay warm, but dry as well. In addition to the warming benefits of PrimaLoft, Black Diamond also added a Gore-Tex XCR insert to the Rambla that is fully waterproof and highly breathable to release perspiration during high-output ascents. Your hands will stay comfortable and dry through sloppy wet sleet while skinning across a ridge, during periods of high exertion while managing a technical ascent, or when heavy snowflakes accumulate during a long lift ride. unnamed (3)

3. 3D patterned construction for maximum dexterity

One of the key features that separates the Rambla glove from similar styles is the incredible level of dexterity that it provides as a result of 3D patterning in the glove's construction. This is important for quick transitions, especially during nasty weather, when removing your glove to take a pair of skins off or to adjust your poles would expose your hands to the cold and would waste valuable time. Additionally, a glove that gives you excellent dexterity is perfect for ski patrollers or instructors who need their hands for snow safety, rescue or other tasks. The Rambla is an incredibly capable ski glove that will keep you warm dry, while allowing you to use your hands easily! 801636_NTRL_Rambla_Palm_web
