2022 Year in Review

It's been another great year at Outdoor Gear Exchange, with tons of excellent memories made outside, at the shop, and with our community. The year saw some pretty big happenings at OGE, including our most ambitious fundraiser to date—a relay thru-hike of the Long Trail by OGE staff and community members from across Vermont that raised over $15,000 for the Green Mountain Club. We also continued to focus on staying true to our mission and values of empowering as many people to enjoy the outdoors as possible: increasing our number of intentionally inclusive events, supporting brands that offer inclusive sizing, and making sure that our charitable giving not only promotes access to the outdoors as a whole, but does so through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Here's to continuing these efforts and to an awesome 2023!

2022 Year in Review, by the numbers
$76,766 in total donations given to local and global non-profits whose missions align with our own: $34,000 given for VT land conservation, trail building and outdoor access by the OGE Charitable Grant Fund, $11,162 donated to community outdoor-oriented nonprofits through our register round-up program, $3,773 raised by our Everyone's Wilderness Fundraiser focused on helping historically under-represented groups get outdoors, $12,831 given away in additional donations to local organizations, 273 miles hiked to raise over $15,000 for the GMC during our Long Trail Relay
At the shop: 460,368 visitors, 1,000 square feet of sales floor expansion, 2,291 skis and boards tuned, 1,107 bicycles tuned, 9 brands that carry inclusive sizing, 51,348 items consigned, 99% of our staff like dogs, 37% of our 2022 events were intentionally inclusive
Worldwide adventures with OGE staff: 70% of us tried a new outdoor activity, 51% of us introduced someone to a new outdoor activity, we spent an average of 9.6 nights camping outside, our 5 favorite things we did outside, 5 of our personal bests, 5 of our most intriguing outdoor snacks, our total distances traveled outside in 2022
