Neck Gaiters For a Great Cause

What happens when you bring three Vermont organizations together? Great things.

Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports, a local non-profit that aims to empower people of all means and abilities to get outside through inclusive sports and recreational programming, and Turtle Fur, a Vermont-based accessory company that aims to inspire an outdoor lifestyle by promoting socially and environmentally conscious living for every adventure, have teamed up to create a product that speaks to the mission and values of both organizations. The design began with a vision from Vermont Adaptive’s athlete Chris “Turtle” Riley to put skiing, boarding, and sledding animals on his home peak—Mount Ellen at Sugarbush.

Outdoor Gear Exchange caught wind of this collaboration and offered a hand from our in-house graphic designer Liza Cannon. Chris and Liza sat down during the fall of 2022 and created a design together that spoke to the spirit of snow-sliding and recreating for everyBODY, including one of Chris’s taglines: ‘ski ya later!’. Turtle Fur went right to work creating this limited-edition neck gaiter at their Morrisville facility, and it's available nowwith 50% of proceeds going straight to Vermont Adaptive!
