Everyone's Wilderness Fundraisers
Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Fundraisers
OGE’s goal from day one has been to encourage folks to get outside — regardless of their experience. We want to take this mission to the next level and focus our efforts on lowering barriers to the outdoors for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other historically excluded communities.
The outdoor industry has a lot of work to do when it comes to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) — OGE included. We want to do our part to change this narrative by supporting organizations that lower existing barriers to outdoor recreation.
OGE is committed to supporting these organizations’ missions to achieve a more diverse and inclusive outdoor community.
Fundraisers that support New England-based nonprofits/organizations (or national organizations with a Vermont/New England chapter) focused on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the outdoors.
This could be a center that supports LGBTQ+ folks that needs funding for their monthly hiking and biking events, a new club that supports BIPOC participation in rock climbing that needs some cash for their start-up, or anything else that supports JEDI work in the outdoors.
OGE will work with our outdoor brand partners to host Fundraiser Giveaways to support these organizations.
To enter to win a fundraiser's prize package, you can donate either $10, $25, $50, $70, or $100 to the beneficiary organization and enter your email contact information. The more you donate, the more entries we will gift to you!
Participating brands have pledged to match the first $500 in donations made by you and others, and 100% of donations will go directly to the beneficiary.
This spring's fundraiser giveaway entry period runs from March 26th, 2021 to May 10th, 2021.

Our Spring Beneficiary
The Park Access Fund By Vermont Parks Forever
Each year since 2016, Vermont Parks Forever (VPF)’s Park Access Fund has provided free park passes to hundreds of Vermonters, including foster families, underrepresented youth, front-line workers, mental health clients, and those with limited mobility, who otherwise would not have the chance to experience all Vermont’s state parks have to offer. Now, more than ever, spending time in nature is important for mental and physical health, yet not everyone has the opportunity.
VPF is committed to removing barriers to state park entrance and has pledged to double its Park Access Fund for 2021. After working with a group of UVM students in the Rubenstein School of Environmental and Natural Resources in 2020, VPF has hired 2 students to continue their research into who isn’t using state parks and why.
Vermont’s 55 state parks are for everyone. VPF is committed to continually working towards a future where all people, especially BIPOC, LBGTQ+, and other underrepresented groups, feel welcome and renewed through their visits to Vermont’s state parks. Learn more about VPF’s inclusivity efforts here.
Thanks OGE and OGE shoppers for ensuring all Vermonters are able to safely recreate and rejuvenate in our shared natural spaces!
Vermont Parks Forever enhances and protects Vermont’s state parks by inspiring stewardship of natural places, providing educational experiences, and promoting an equitable park experience. Learn more about Vermont Parks Forever here.

The North Face
The North Face is well known for their high-quality clothing and equipment that gets folks outside. What’s lesser-known about them are the thousands of dollars they contribute to organizations around the nation as part of their Explore Fund. Since 2010, the Explore Fund Grant program has created access and driven equity in the outdoors by funding hundreds of nonprofits around two themes: Enabling Exploration and Loving Wild Places. Learn more about the Fund here.
Mountain Hardwear has been around for decades making great technical clothing for outdoor recreation. They recently have begun initiatives to make both their company and this industry more inclusive. Learn more here.
Oboz makes some amazing footwear and plants a tree for every pair of shoes sold. They are beginning their journey to becoming more inclusive: they hope to bring more diversity to their team and draw diversity to their home base of Bozeman and beyond. Learn more about their efforts here.
