Grivel
In 1818 the Grivel family, blacksmiths by trade, began collaborating with alpinists passing through their hometown of Courmayeur, Italy at the foor of Mont Blanc. The ice axe was born. Since then, Grivel has been a leading manufacturer and innovator of mountaineering and climbing equipment. Grivel is responsible for changing the face of mountaineering and ice climbing with the 12-point crampon. All of ice axes, crampons, pitons, ice screws are produced in Italy with the highest quality steel available.
