Description
The Viking is the revision of a Helle classic that was originally produced as a part of a fund-raiser for an around-the-world expedition in a Viking longship.
The handle is barrel shaped, but tapered to give the knife a distinct grip even if it is not contoured. It offers beauty in its simplicity and has become a modern classic, even if the design is more than a 1000 years old.
The knife works really well with all size hands, but should only be used by those of you that have more experience. No finger guard here, so think before use.
The knife is equipped with a rather thick blade, made of laminated carbon steel. Black to its finish, straight from heat treatment. Its narrow tang reaches all the way through the handle and is pinned old style with a diamond shaped washer.
Viking comes with a traditional back sewn leather sheath to hang in its leather loop on the belt.
This knife will rust if not maintained.

The Helle Viking is one of the most durable multi-purpose knife that Helle makes. Though I would consider nearly any Helle knife worth the price, this one I would certainly call a good deal.

Unlike most of their other knives, the viking is a thick, triple lamented carbon steel, rather than a fine stainless steel. because of this, the viking works great for splitting up kindling or anything that takes a little more than a fine blade.
I also like the simplicity of the handle and fact that it has a little more weight to it than you'd expect.
