Icebreaker

In 1994, Icebreaker was born in the Southern Alps of New Zealand when a merino grower showed 24-year old Jeremy Moon a prototype fabric he'd developed from 100% merino wool. This soft, non-itch, lightweight fabric was a world away from the itchy, scratchy wool Jeremy had grown up with. Jeremy immediately saw the potential of a natural, biodegradable fabric that combined the benefits of wool and synthetics. The discovery inspired him to pioneer a new retail category: merino outdoor clothing. Icebreaker is now sold in more than 3,000 stores in 44 countries around the world. Merino outperforms alternative fibers including synthetics and cotton. Its many benefits include warmth in the coldest conditions, comfort in the heat, breathability, and natural antimicrobial properties to ward off odor for days on end, making it perfect for adventures in nature and travel.
