Stability and confidence. Whether it’s in the Himalayas or on the groomers, the Kastle FX94 is a precision freeskiing tool from Chris Davenport.
A 94mm waist gives the FX94 outstanding handling characteristics especially in varying and deep piste conditions and in deep powder snow. In comparison with a classic terrain ski of comparable length, the running surface is approximately 42 % longer. The single radius masters changing conditions and difficult circumstances, while the harmonious sidecut enables a smooth and exceptional ride. Poplar (0.4 kg/dm³), silver fir (~0.55 kg/dm³) and ash wood (~0.7 kg/dm³) are combined for the wood core, providing the ski with a very low weight. The core construction has been bonded in one block. A 45° aluminium bevel at the surface of the ski distributes impacts and protects against wear.
By using a titanal base and top sheet of 0.3 mm each, which is unusual in ski construction, a very high stability could be achieved while reducing weight. Additionally, this ski is equipped with extremely resistant ABS sidewalls. A further reduction in weight has been achieved with the HOLLOWTECH technology that is not only applied in the shovel zone but also in the tail zone of the FX94. Core construction, sheeting and the Hollowtech technology all result in a very low overall weight of this freeskiing product, leading to high touring performance.
