In 1972, Jay “Sparky” Longley experimented making sandals in his Laguna Beach garage. With $200, Sparky bought a sewing machine, some rubber, and assigned himself a task: To make the world’s best sandal.
From those humble beginnings, and with a lot of hard work, tenacity, and trial and error, Sparky has been able to grow Rainbow Sandals into one of the most popular sandal companies in operation today.
Rainbow Sandals are created by hand, using specially formulated glue to keep their layers together and the straps in place, along with Sparky's own personally-formulated densities of sponge rubber with "memory" to mold to individuals' feet. Try a pair for yourself, and see why Rainbow Sandals have gotten their reputation for being some of the most comfortable sandals ever made.
