What’s an OGExpert? They’re the folks that huff and puff alongside you in the skin track, give you a yell from the lift, move that pad for you at the climbing gym, share their granola at the summit, or help you change a flat tire at the bike trailhead. They’re us. We’ve done it all, and used pretty much every kind of gear along the way. We live, breathe, and recreate with the community.

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO VERMONT?
Vermont has been home since 2003. I love exploring—and occasionally getting lost—all over the state by foot, bike, paddle, including hiking the entire Long Trail.
WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOUR AREA OF OUTDOOR EXPERTISE?
These days, I’m just as likely to be wandering through a bog looking for rare orchids and mushrooms as I am to be gardening with my cat, Spaghetti, or cooking a meal for friends. Vermont keeps me curious, muddy, and well fed.
FAVORITE PIECE OF GEAR?
My favorite piece of gear is also my most worn-out piece of gear: My Osprey Eja backpack that I took on the Long Trail, now with repairs and patches all over, but still useful. I hope to bring it on the trail again soon.
TELL US A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF!
I have lived in France on three separate occasions. I guided cycling tours with a trainer for Tour de France athletes through tiny French villages, I joined radical accordionists at national protests, and I taught English to young French students while learning to rock climb on Pyrenean cliffs. Now, I keep my French language skills fresh with routine visits to Québec. If you want something roughly translated, I could probably help you out.
