Hillsound - Trail Crampon - Black

Properly used, these are awesome. Unlike everything else in this category at OGE (12•2023) these aren't small dull stainless spikes, nor minuscule tungsten teeth—these are long, strong, tool-steel fangs. They are, in fact, crampons. Not for climbing, not for walking, definitely not for running, these are for hiking when everything is encased in snow and ice. Stainless spikes and tungsten teeth are excellent for a wide range of variable conditions, but when you're up to your ass in crust, ice and hard-packed powder, when a slip or slide is more than annoying, these are what you want on your boots. Hillsound includes a tough storage sack, not for convenience but to keep them from chewing your gear and impaling your flesh when you're not wearing them. This degree of traction needs to be handled with care.

Well designed does the job of holding well on ice. Addition of cross strap ensures these hiking crampons stay on and do not roll off.
