Features
- O Fit Insole: The Oboz proprietary insole is what they're known for. Molded to match the specific shape and construction of every pair they make, this purpose-designed technology delivers the kind of fit, feel and performance that's unmatched in the industry.
- Granite Peak Midsole: Great for day hiking but burly enough for a multi-day backpacking trip. Featuring a TPU Chassis boosts stability and prevents stone bruising without inhibiting flex. Single-density EVA provides cushioning and comfort.
- Granite Peak Outsole: Our quintessential hiking outsole built to be supportive and protective. If you're tired of feeling rocks and roots underfoot look no further.
- Oboz B-DRY Waterproof: There's no denying feet sweat and trails can get muddy. There's also no denying the ability of our proprietary waterproofing system, B-DRY, lets sweat escape while keeping moisture out.
- Fit notes: Length runs true to size. Form hugging heel cup, sculpted mid-foot, and a generous forefoot & toe box.

I bought my first pair of the Bridger Mid Waterproof for a 5-day backpacking loop in the Wind River Range in October, where they held up beautifully over 4 high passes with temperatures hovering around freezing. At one point I fell through snow into a stream and almost filled one boot with water - the waterproofing held up, as it has on wet hikes. I like the light weight and good protection to the toe area. For a mid-level boot I really prefer the single hooked eyelet at the top for lacing up, rather than 2 rows of hooked eyelets. After 5 years the boots are in great shape and probably have years of remaining life. There is a small tear on the leather but in 2020 this model had holes in the leather for better air flow (like the Sawtooth X Waterproof does in 2024), so the leather was subject to more strain. I found the regular width was a bit narrow (I was 60 when I bought them - feet get wider over time) so I ordered the wides, which work perfectly. I'm going to order another pair today.
I only used the shoes a few times since I bought it. the fit was good as my other shoes where oboz as well. They are initially slightly hard to break in but after a few times of walking on them no issues. I also have Merrell shoes. Compared to them Oboz is initially hard to start with but they get better after the break in period. The color of this product looks slightly different when compared to the picture online, slight green tinge. Other minor issue: the laces; they get undone if not tied properly. So I tried to run them across the metal hook at the top of the shoes and it seems to have solved the issue. I walked a lot on flat surfaces but haven't done any hiking on them. But it gives me the feel that hiking should be fine on them.
